Is there a scholarship programme?
No, there is no scholarship programme.
Is there a registration fee for local students?
There isn’t any registration fee for local students. This also means that they cannot request accommodation or transfers.
Who can be exempted from paying the registration fee?
Local students, who do not need accommodation or transfer services. (Coffee, lunch, social dinner on Wednesday, poster session snacks are included in the registration for them as well.)
What does the registration fee include?
- Access to the lectures and the poster session;
- Accommodation for five nights from 1 to 6 September (double rooms at Hotel Forrás, Szeged);
- Daily morning transfer from the hotel to the ELI ALPS Facility from 2 September to 6 September; daily afternoon transfer from ELI ALPS to the hotel from 2 September to 5 September, and an afternoon transfer from ELI ALPS to the airport on 6 September;
- Refreshments (hotel breakfast, coffee, lunch, social dinner on Wednesday, poster session snacks);
- Organizing costs;
- Conference materials.
What is NOT included in the registration fee?
- Travel costs;
- Transfer from the airport to the hotel;
- Dinner (except for the gala dinner).
If you do not attend every day, do you have to pay less?
No, we charge a one-off and fixed registration fee irrespective of the number of days you wish to attend.
Will I receive a certificate of participation?
Yes, if you request it on the registration interface.
Is it possible to pay the registration fee in instalments?
No, the registration fee must be paid in a lump sum.
What does the transfer service include?
From Monday morning to Friday morning, transport between ELI ALPS and Hunguest Hotel Szeged.
On Friday afternoon, after the programmes are over, a collective shuttle service will be available from ELI ALPS to the airport.

For which days can I book accommodation?
Accommodation can be booked from 1 to 6 September (5 nights). If you need accommodation outside the period of September 1-6, you will need to book and pay for it yourself.
How many people do the rooms sleep?
Each room accommodates two people, men and women separately. If you wish to share a room with someone, please indicate this on the registration interface.
When can you apply for the hands-on activities?
A limited number of people can participate in the hands-on activities, registration for which will open soon.
Can the organizers print my poster?
No, you must print your poster yourself and bring it printed.
Who can participate in the summer school?
ELISS2024 is open to university students, doctoral students and young researchers, as well as anyone interested in laser research.
