Please note that according to ELI-NP’s safety regulations, visitors have to present an ID or a passport when accessing the institute area. At the entrance gate you will be asked to fill out the access form. Access badges will be prepared for the meeting participants.
2.Traveling to (and from) Bucharest
Meeting participants are responsible for arranging and paying for their travel costs for their participation in the meetings.
Transport from the Bucharest Airport
Several options are available for reaching Bucharest from the Bukarest Henri Coandă (OTP) airport:
- The cheapest option is to use the train from the Arrivals Terminal at the airport to Bucharest Gara de Nord train station (fare is 5RON/1EUR, payable by card directly in the train), then proceed with public transport (STB), taxi or Uber to the hotel. The public transport available is line 178 (bus) having a 10 minutes ride to the stop close to both hotels (Sala Palatului stop)
- Transfer from/to the airport can be booked on the hotel reservation form, being organized on an individual basis by the hotels listed on the event page (prices to be communicated by the hotel)
- A high-quality (and quite conveniently priced) taxi service, Black Cab, can be booked directly on their website - a driver will then wait for you in the Arrivals terminal of the airport: https://black.cab/homepage-en/
Traveling by car
In case you are traveling by car, please mention this in the Registration form and in the hotel booking form, so that parking is secured by the hotel. Also, make sure you have a vignette (Rovinieta) at the entrance in Romania. Vignettes can be purchased online (https://www.erovinieta.ro/vignettes-portal-web/#/login) and in most petrol stations, the shortest validity period offered being 7 days (approx. 3 EUR).
Local transport
The distance of the meeting venue (ELI-NP) from the hotel in the city centre is about 14 km. The transportation from the hotel to ELI-NP in the morning and vice versa in the end of the meeting day will be organized and paid by the organizers of the meeting.
