Who can participate in the summer school?
ELISS2026 is open to university students, doctoral students and young researchers, as well as anyone interested in laser research.
How much is the registration fee?
200 EUR / Early bird fee - registered and paid until 30 June 2026
300 EUR / Standard fee - registered and paid after 30 June 2026
There is no registration fee for local students who do not request accommodation and daily transfer.
What does the registration fee include?
- Access to the lectures and the poster session;
- Accommodation for five nights from 30 August to 4 September (from Sunday evening to Friday morning, double rooms at Hunguest Hotel Forrás, Szeged);
- Daily morning transfer from the hotel to the ELI ALPS Facility from 31 August to 4 September; daily afternoon transfer from ELI ALPS to the hotel from 31 August to 3 September, and an afternoon transfer from ELI ALPS to the Budapest airport and railway station on 4 September;
- Refreshments (hotel breakfast, coffee breaks, lunch, gala dinner on Wednesday, poster session snacks);
- Organizing costs;
- Conference materials.
What is not included in the registration fee?
- Travel costs;
- Transfer from the airport/railway station/bus station to the hotel;
- Dinner (except for the gala dinner).
If I do not attend every day, do I have to pay less?
No, we charge a one-off and fixed registration fee irrespective of the number of days you wish to attend.
Is it possible to pay the registration fee in instalments?
No, the registration fee must be paid in a lump sum.
What does the transfer service include?
From Monday morning to Friday morning, transport between ELI ALPS and Hunguest Hotel Szeged.
On Friday afternoon, after the programmes are over, a collective shuttle service will be available from ELI ALPS to Budapest.
When can I check in to the accommodation?
The accomodation is booked for you from 30 August to 4 September (5 nights, from Sunday evening to Friday morning) at Hunguest Hotel Forrás. You can check in on 30 August from 2 pm, and check out on 4 September until 10 am. If you need accommodation outside the period of 30 August-4 September, you need to book and pay it for yourself at the hotel reception or online.
How many people sleep in one room?
Each room accommodates two people, men and women separately. If you wish to share a room with someone, please indicate this on the registration interface.
When can I apply for the hands-on activities?
A limited number of people can participate in the hands-on activities, registration for which will open soon.
Can the organizers print my poster?
No, you must print your poster yourself and bring it printed.
Will I receive a certificate of participation?
Yes, if you request it on the registration interface.
