Abstract:

X-lites is a global network connecting researchers, organizers, and staff of “extreme light” facilities and research networks. X-lites members have a common interest in the science and technology enabled by ultrafast, high-intensity, and high-spatial-resolution light sources. X-lites laser-driven user facilities in the US, Canada, and Europe serve networks of scientists with diverse capabilities that complement those of synchrotron and free electron-laser (FEL) facilities. X-lites enables users and staff of these facilities to collaborate, address shared challenges, and take advantage of shared opportunities. ELI ERIC is a founding member of X-lites. This talk will introduce X-lites and its three working groups—Early Career Development, Facilities and Users, or Science and Technology—that will support awards for international travel and collaboration.
