Travelling to Szeged

From the Airport – by train

After arriving to Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport (so called Ferihegy) Terminal 2A, you can use 200E bus transport from the airport to the train station (Ferihegy Airport Station), where you can buy your train ticket to Szeged (note: this is a direct train line to Szeged, it is not necessary to travel into the centre of Budapest).

From the airport you can take a 300 meters walk to the train station as well. At Ferihegy Airport Station choose Cegléd direction. InterCity train runs on the Budapest-Cegléd-Kecskemét-Szeged line every hour from 5:53 to 19:53. (From Ferihegy Airport Station to Szeged, every hour from 06:13 to 20:13). Buying your train ticket, you can choose from two types of service: normal class and IC class. The differences: IC class has more comfortable seats and air-condition, traveling on IC class requires supplementary ticket. You can buy train tickets online too: Online train ticket purchase.

From the Airport – by car

Szeged is 165 km away from Budapest on highway M5. Before accessing to highway M5, you have to buy a highway sticker for your car. Stickers can be purchased at any Hungarian gas station or online as well: motorway vignette.
