Description

ELI Summer School 2022

The 7th edition of the ELI Summer School series aims to provide young scientists with a comprehensive overview of the generation and application of intense laser pulses and laser-driven particle and radiation sources. Last year, more than 300 students from 29 countries followed the scientific programme of ELISS in front of the screens - and this time, the pandemic situation allows us to finally meet in person again.

ELISS 2022 is hosted as a hybrid event by ELI ALPS and jointly organised by ELI Beamlines as an ELI ERIC event. All the lectures will be available for streaming online during the time of the event. A great opportunity to learn, meet, and connect!

Main topics include:

  • Physics of laser and secondary sources,
  • AMO physics,
  • Ultra-fast dynamics in gases,
  • Liquids and surfaces,
  • Laser-plasma physics and applications.

IN-PERSON registration is closed now but you still have the chance to attend the event online!

Participation in ELISS 2022 is free of charge, including the accommodation booked by the organisers.

The Summer School is organised with the support of the IMPULSE project.

IMPULSE (Integrated Management and reliable oPerations for User-based Laser Scientific  Excellence) is a 42-month project supporting the transition of ELI to sustainable operations. As ELI enters a crucial phase with the establishment of ELI ERIC and the gradual opening of the ELI Facilities to users, IMPULSE addresses the key scientific, technical, organisational and management requirements of this transition, building user communities and expanding the ELI member consortium. This project is inclusive and open, and it relies on the collective effort of a wide consortium involving 15 key institutions of the European science community. IMPULSE focuses primarily on ELI, but its results must have impact beyond the ELI Facilities.
