Welcome

WavemiX 2026 is the annual international workshop on ultrafast EUV/X-ray science and the NEXT (COST Action CA22148) Annual Meeting. The 2026 edition will gather experimental and theoretical researchers working on- and with - free‑electron lasers (FELs) and high‑harmonic generation (HHG) sources to discuss the latest advances in non‑linear spectroscopies, attosecond physics, and ultrafast imaging.

We welcome contributions from academia, large‑scale facilities, and industry. Early‑career researchers are especially encouraged to participate.

The registration for the event is free of charge.

Scope & Topics

The workshop spans (but is not limited to):

  • Generation and control of few‑femtosecond to attosecond pulses (FEL/HHG)
  • XUV/X-ray non‑linear phenomena and spectroscopy (pump–probe, 2D, four‑wave mixing)
  • Ultrafast electron dynamics in atoms, molecules, solids, and quantum materials
  • Coherent diffractive imaging, ptychography, and ultrafast microscopy
  • Beam transport, focusing, adaptive optics, structured beams
  • Sources, diagnostics, and metrology (timing tools, waveform synthesis)
  • Novel detection concepts, data analysis and theory/simulation
  • Applications in chemistry, materials science, nanoscience, and bio‑systems
