The ELIMED international collaboration aims to develop and validate the use of laser-driven ion sources for biomedical and other multidisciplinary applications, exploiting the capabilities of the ELIMAIA–ELIMED user beamline at ELI Beamlines and similar instruments at other international high-power laser facilities.
The 4th ELIMED Workshop aims to enhance the ELIMED collaboration, review the results achieved in the first set of user experiments at ELI Beamlines as well as other facilities, and explore new approaches and applications spanning Physics, Biology, Medicine, Chemistry, Materials Science, Cultural Heritage, and Space Radiation.
TOPICS
- Medical applications of laser-driven ion beams (ultrahigh dose-rate clinical dosimetry, radiation therapy, medical radioisotopes, medical imaging);
- Ultrafast Radiation Biology (in vivo and in-vitro)
- Recent development of compact laser-plasma ion accelerators for multidisciplinary applications.
- Radiation damage on electronics and space radiation applications with laser-driven ion beams
- Non-destructive material inspections for cultural heritage applications
