Student & Young Researcher Travel Support

ELI is offering targeted support for selected students and early-career researchers from ELI's Member and Observer countries interested in participating in the ELI User Meeting 2026.

Who can apply?

The support programme is open to:

  • Master’s students, 
  • PhD candidates, 
  • and early-stage researchers 

affiliated with universities or research institutions in the following ELI Member States and Observer countries:

  • Czech Republic, 
  • Hungary, 
  • Italy,
  • Lithuania,
  • Bulgaria, 
  • Germany, 
  • Slovakia, 
  • Montenegro, and 
  • Romania.

Participation is linked to the submission of a scientific poster relevant to the ELI User Programme 
or ELI-related research areas. 

Priority may be given to applicants whose work demonstrates strong relevance to ELI scientific domains and future user potential.

Support conditions

The support is provided in the form of reimbursement of eligible travel and accommodation expenses up to a maximum of EUR 550 per person.

Selected participants are expected to arrange their own travel and accommodation. Reimbursement will be processed after participation in the event and presentation of the poster. Transport between designated 
pick-up and drop-off points in Prague and the venue (ELI Beamlines) will be available for participants.

Please notet that the number of students who can be supported is limited. All applicants will be notified shortly after the deadline.

How to apply?

Eligible applicants are invited to apply for support 
by completing the form by 1 June 2026. 
If you are selected, you will be asked to complete the formal registration process at the beginning of June.
