Description
For emission-based fuel development, we measured the absorption of diesel exhaust particulate matter using a multi wavelength photoacoustic system with lasers ranging from thenear-infrared to the ultraviolet range.
We also measured the electrical mobility size of the particles. Additionally, we performed the measurements at two different volatility temperatures (i.e.,40°C and 250°C). We compared two different candidate fuels and calculated their organic and elemental carbon ratios in the exhaust particulate matter.
