Due to the large amount of applications, the organizers have decided to open an additional term for the same workshop to accept more participants. The additional term is from January 29th to February 1st.
The program of the second session stays identical.
This event will provide a hands-on training session for the university students and young researchers in the format of a three-day hands-on workshop. The workshop is organized in the framework of the EURIZON project supported by the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme.
The workshop is open for all students and young researchers to apply and is free of charge, however the capacity is limited to 12 participants.

Day 1
- Arrival
- Lab tours (optional)
- Introductory lecture | Safety training
Day 2
- Gluing of the connectors, polishing of the ferules
- Splicing different fiber types
- Assembling and characterizing an optical scheme
Day 3
- Assembling a diode laser with a laser driver
- Making a fiber amplifier and measuring its parameters
- Building of an optical gyroscope (optional)
Day 4
- Lab tours (optional)
- Departure
