DESCRIPTION:Welcome to the One-Week School on the Geant4 simulation toolki
 tWe are delighted to invite you to the One-Week School on the basic Geant4
  simulation toolkit to be held at ELI Beamlines facility in Dolní Břeža
 ny (CZ) very close to the beautiful city of Prague\, from July 27th to 31s
 t\, 2026. The school is organized jointly by Laboratori Nazionali del Sud
  of INFN – Istituto Italiano di Fisica Nucleare (Italy)\, ELI-ERIC in co
 llaboration with COST Action CA21128 PROBONO.The course is organized as a 
 mixture of theoretical lectures and pratical hands-on sessions.The registr
 ation fee is 350\,00 euros\, which includes lunches\, coffee breaks and da
 ily transportation from/to Prague. Due to the hands-on sessions\, the maxi
 mum attendance is limited to 50 participants.Hands-on Geant4 courseGeant4 
 is a software toolkit\, written in C++\, for simulating tracking of partic
 les in matter with the Monte Carlo approach. The software is developed and
  maintained by an international collaboration of scientists belonging to d
 ifferent institutions. Geant4 can be used for applications in high energy 
 physics\, astrophysics\, medical physics\, particle astrophysics and nucle
 ar physics.The lectures of the XIII International Geant4 School will cover
  all aspects of the toolkit from basic installation through advanced topic
 s and will be interspersed with examples that build a progressively more c
 omplex application\, extensible to real space and medical use. The use of 
 Geant4 in a laser-plasma environment will be discussed in a dedicated lect
 ure.A dedicated short C++/cmake refresher course is also included\, to get
  participants familiar with the basic elements of the Geant4 programming l
 anguage.The school is aimed at PhD students\, post-docs\, and young resear
 chers working at universities or research institutes. On the last day of t
 he School\, students will have the opportunity to test their learning achi
 evements through a written exam. The successful outcome of the test will b
 e reported on a written certificate for those interested. A simple attenda
 nce certificate will also be available on request.Virtual Machine and hand
 s-on material:Participants are recommended to bring their own laptops. A v
 irtual machine with Linux-CentOS and a ready-to-use Geant4 and Python inst
 allation will be made available.The COST Action PROBONO will support a li
